Alter Scripted Life Scenes, In A Real Way
You don’t need to be a robot. Zoom out of the picture. Zoom out of yourself. See how you are, who you are, why you are. Allow yourself to understand everything is invented.
Then it’s time to play.
With knowing that everything is invented and everyone is playing a role you can alter scripts everyday, with anyone. It could be as simple as giving someone a “stone face” when they talk to you. Oh, that can be so fun! Especially if it’s someone who constantly acts like a victim, but also continuously boasts about past experiences that don’t matter anymore. Just “stone face” them when they tell you nonsense or lies or the same thing they told you so many times before. Just be solid as a rock, calm, collected, nonreactive. Watch them talk, don’t respond. And laugh so hard inside when they don’t know how to react to your expression. It’s amazing to have such awareness and interrupt invented expectations.
Or maybe the next time you’re in a car at a red light, look at someone. Then smile and nod. See if they nod back. You can bring joy to another fellow driver by doing this. But also joy to yourself by experiencing a reaction, whatever it may be.
As the world has developed so-called “standards” realize you may be acting like many “standards” all the time. But once you realize that you can begin to go away from just playing the role (or roles) you’re playing and observing others play roles.
Life is awesome to live. And to alter.
